The Aikyashree Scholarship is a state-sponsored initiative by the Government of West Bengal aimed at providing financial assistance to students from minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis. This program supports students from Class I to Ph.D. level, facilitating their access to education without financial constraints.

  • Scholarship Categories:

    • Pre-Matric Scholarship: For students in Class I to X.

    • Post-Matric Scholarship: For students in Class XI to Ph.D.

    • Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: For students pursuing technical and professional courses.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

    • Belong to a minority community.

    • Have secured at least 50% marks in the previous examination.

    • Annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh (for Merit-cum-Means Scholarship).

    • Must be enrolled in a recognized educational institution in West Bengal.

  • Financial Assistance:

    • Scholarship amounts vary based on the level of education and type of scholarship.

    • For example, the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship offers up to ₹33,000 per annum for hostellers and ₹27,500 for day scholars.

  • Application Process:

    • Applications can be submitted online through the official Aikyashree portal.

    • Applicants need to register, fill in the required details, and submit necessary documents.

    • The scholarship amount is disbursed directly to the student’s Aadhaar-linked bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
