Anti Ragging Committee

ABOUT

Samsi College, situated in a rural setting of West Bengal, is deeply committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all its students. In accordance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and to uphold the dignity of every individual, the college has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court in its judgement dated 08.05.2009 ordered the implementation of a ragging prevention program comprising inter-alia setting up of a toll-free anti ragging helpline/call center, a database of institutions and engaging on independent non-government agencies as the monitoring agency.

UGC has framed “Regulation on Curbing The Menace Of Ragging In Higher Educational Institutions, 2009” to root out ragging in all its forms from universities, colleges and other educational institutions in the country by prohibiting it by law, preventing its occurrence by following the regulations and punishing those who indulge in ragging.

Samsi College formed Anti-Ragging Committee for maintaining a learning ambience for the students. This committee functions as a vigilant body to prevent and address any incidents of ragging within the campus. Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited and considered a punishable offence under the law. The committee works proactively to educate students, ensure compliance with anti-ragging guidelines, and maintain a peaceful academic atmosphere.
