Minimum Eligibility criteria for admission:

  1. 4-Year UG Degree (Honours / Honours with Research): A student who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination held by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent Examination from other Boards / Councils with at least four subjects having English as Compulsory Subject of 100 marks is eligible to take admission to the Honours Programmes of Studies of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A. on the basis of merit and available vacancy of the particular subject(s) of the concerned
  2. 3-Year UG Degree: A student who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination held by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent Examination from other Boards/Councils with at least four subjects having English as Compulsory Subject of 100 marks is eligible to take admission to the General Programmes of Studies of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. on the basis of merit and available vacancy of the particular subject(s) of the concerned
  3. A student who has passed Higher Secondary (10+2) examinations (with English as a subject) of the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development or any equivalent Courses from National or State Level Board in regular mode shall be eligible to take admission to the 3-Year UG Degree Programme only.
  4. NRI: In case of any NRI applicant the College Authority should seek permission from the University Authority as well as from appropriate
  5. Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examinations in the current year, immediate previous year and the year before the previous year will only be allowed to take admission.
  6. Aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects, including Marks obtained in English, in order of marks secured by a candidate. Marks obtained in Compulsory Environmental Studies (if any) shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate
  7. There shall be reservation of seats for SC / ST / OBC-A /OBC-B and Differently-abled Candidates as per Rules of the State Government. 22% seats for SC, 6% seats for ST,10% seats for OBC-A,7% seats for OBC-B and 10% seats for the Economically Weaker Section(EWS) are reserved.
  8. A candidate shall be allowed to pursue any one of the Programmes in a particular Academic Session. At the initial stage, every student has to choose one Major subject(Honours Subject) and two Minor subjects (Generic Elective subjects) along with MIL compulsory subjects (Bengali / English).

  9. If a student is not able to pursue 4-Year UG Degree (Honours / Honours with Research) during the course, then he/she may convert the above mentioned course into 3-Year UG Degree Course before the UGB Registration process in the 1st Semester according to College authority permission.
  10. Admitted students would have to fill out the University Registration Form with the payment of Rs. 300/- during the provided time of UGB, but if the students fail to do the UGB Registration during the provided time of UGB, then they will have to pay an extra of Rs.100/- as a late fine for doing the same.

The selection criteria and merit will be prepared as per the provisions of the University. The Merit Point Calculation will be done as follows :

a)    Subject to the eligibility criteria, the merit  lists for  the 4-Year UG Degree  (Honours / Honours with Research) Courses will be prepared as:

a) Subject to the eligibility criteria, the merit lists for the Honours Courses will be prepared as:
(i) (S+T)/4
[Where S = Subject marks (opted for Honours Course) and T = Marks obtained in English + best
marks of two other subjects].
(ii) In case, any candidate opts for an Honours Course beyond his/her subject combination [except
linguistic subjects at H.S. (10+2) level], the merit point will be calculated as: T1/4.
[Where T1 = Marks obtained in English + best marks of three other subjects (excluding English)].

b) Subject to the eligibility criteria, the merit lists for the General/Program Course will be
prepared as:

5.1. Special conditions for admission: A student shall be allowed to take up a subject in Honours /
General Programme if he /she have passed in that subject at the qualifying examination. However,
a student shall be allowed to take up the subject(s) under Column ‘A’ if he /she have passed the
subject(s) under Column ‘B’ at the qualifying examination.
